Pierce is an 18 year old fundraiser from Bellevue Hill in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. He is the eldest of four children and completed his education in Country NSW.
Previously working in the financial services industry, Pierce now works for an organisation that raises money for charities such as ChildFund and Amnesty International. He has been umpiring Australian Football for 5 years, which has taken him to places as close as Trumper Park in Paddington to as far away as Darwin. He currently umpires in the Sydney AFL.
An avid sports fan, Pierce supports the Sydney Roosters in the NRL, and the Sydney Swans in the AFL. Occassionally he can be spotted down at Woollahra Oval for the odd Eastern Suburbs Rugby match.
Pierce joined the Young Democrats in early 2007, and was elected to Secretary of the NSW Division. He joined the party due to his dissillusionment with the other parties and their inability to provide common sense answers for a wide variety of problems. Growing up, he was inspired hearing about the achievements of the Democrats, in particular those of Don Chipp and Indigenous former NSW Senator Aden Ridgeway.
Pierce is running for the seat of Wentworth as he believes that the Democrats have the answers to the issues that concern many in his area - such as Climate Change, Industrial relations and Same Sex Equality. He has seen the dissatisfaction of many people with Malcolm Turnbull, and is there to provide a strong alternative to the people in his electorate.
