In the Sixties I was a peace activist. In the Seventies I was in the fight against nuclear weapons. I have always tried to be fair, kind and honest. I’ve been around the world a couple of times, or maybe more…. Professionally I was an underwater archaeologist, mostly on historic shipwrecks.
My partner and I moved to the Northern Rivers from Perth in 1985 and hand-built our own house in the forests at Lillian Rock, near Nimbin. It is environmentally friendly with solar electricity, rain tanks and composting toilet. We eat from our organic garden.
I help manage the Nimbin Community Centre and sing with the Murwillumbah Philharmonic Choir. I have been a farmer and small business owner. Until recently we managed a small resort at Kingscliff. Now that I’m retired and a grandfather of seven, I want to make the world a better place for them.
If elected, I will focus on health (including dental), education and public infrastructure (like trains.) The Democrats are resolutely against all things nuclear.
Let’s build a better future for our children and grandchildren.
